Import your dives

Import Subsurface dives

Subsurface keeps your logbook in a single file — which makes moving it to a logbook that's on every device refreshingly quick. Import is free, and nothing is saved until you've seen the preview.

Getting the file

Subsurface's native logbook file already works here — no special export needed:

  1. Find your logbook file: in Subsurface, File → Save as… saves a .ssrf file (or use the one it already keeps — the default location is shown in Preferences).
  2. Alternatively, File → Export… and choose UDDF, the open dive-data format — both arrive the same way.

Importing it here

  1. Create a free logbook (or sign in) — importing is free on every plan, always.
  2. Open Import & export from the account menu and drop your file on the import panel.
  3. Review the preview — every dive is shown exactly as it will be saved, and nothing is written to your logbook until you confirm.

What carries over

Dates and times, dive sites with their countries, maximum depths, durations, water temperatures, full depth profiles (your dive computer's samples), ratings, buddies, and notes. Multi-dive files import in one pass — a decade of Subsurface arrives as a decade of dives.

After import your dives behave like any others: unit preferences apply, stats include them, and each one can become a shareable public page. Also importing from elsewhere? All the formats: UDDF, CSV, Excel, DAN DL7.
